SHIPMENT PLANNING
Agree the shipment assumptions before goods are ready.
Freight, carton data and trade terms depend on the order, destination and shipping plan. Confirm the responsibilities and timing in the quotation and purchase confirmation.
DETAILS TO ALIGN
One shipment plan, written down.
For the selected products, confirm carton quantity and dimensions, gross/net weight, ready date, pickup or port, destination, trade term and document responsibilities. Freight is quoted against the agreed route and shipment profile.
- Final SKU and order quantity
- Master-carton data and markings
- Goods-ready date and inspection window
- Pickup, port and destination
- Agreed trade term and freight responsibility
INCOTERMS, DEFINED
Who pays, who carries the risk.
Trade terms are confirmed in the written quotation; buyers most often use the following routes when moving bulk toys out of Chenghai.
| Term | Meaning on a toy order | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| FOB | Free On Board: seller clears export and delivers onto the named vessel; risk passes there | Most common for full-container toy imports |
| CIF | Cost, Insurance & Freight to destination port; buyer handles import clearance | Buyers wanting port-to-port freight arranged by seller |
| CFR | Cost & Freight without seller-arranged insurance | Buyers insuring cargo on their own policy |
| EXW | Ex Works: buyer arranges pickup, export and full carriage | Experienced importers with established forwarders |
| DDP / DAP | Seller delivers to the named place, DDP with import duties handled | Program orders, quoted case by case |
After more than ten years booking toy freight out of the ports serving Shantou and the wider Pearl River Delta, we still treat shipping as an order question, not an afterthought. A carton count that does not match the purchase order, a missing HS-code mapping or a late booking before the pre-holiday sailing peak has cost more buyers shelf time than production ever has. We align carton data, trade terms and document responsibility while the quotation is being built.
SHIPPING FAQ
Shipping questions buyers ask before booking.
01Which port do wholesale toys from Chenghai ship through?+
Goods move principally through the major southern China container ports serving Guangdong, selected against the sailing, destination and freight plan. Local pickup from the Chenghai packing point and the inland leg are arranged as part of the shipment route.
02Can small or low-MOQ orders be shipped by air, rail or courier?+
Yes. Trial orders, samples and urgent seasonal lines often move by express courier or air freight, and overland rail options exist for European destinations. The mode follows the carton profile and deadline; we compare the realistic routes before the booking is fixed.
03How is shipping space protected before peak season?+
By starting the carton and booking plan early, confirming the goods-ready date against the sailing schedule and, on tighter launches, reserving space once the order route is approved. We flag the pre-Chinese New Year and year-end peak windows when the brief is reviewed.
04Who prepares the export documents for customs?+
Responsibilities are written into the trade term. Our desk coordinates the commercial invoice, packing list and the product-file package the destination requires, while the buyer's broker handles import clearance. The quotation states who supplies each document and when.
